Doctor of Theology
Overview
The Doctor of Theology (ThD) is a 54-credit-hour post-graduate degree designed for individuals seeking advanced academic and theological development. This program is intended for those who already hold a graduate-level degree and desire a higher level of competency in theology and biblical exposition.
The Doctor of Theology is not designed as a pastoral degree, but as an advanced academic program open to both men and women. It focuses on deep theological study, research, and scholarly engagement with Scripture.
Students will complete the program with a final assessment option of their choice:
- Dissertation
- Ministry Project
- Comprehensive Examination

Admission Requirements
Admission into the Doctor of Theology program requires:
- A Master of Divinity (minimum 72 credit hours) or equivalent
- Completion of the online application
- Agreement with the doctrinal statement
- Two references (preferably one pastoral and one academic)
- Submission of transcripts
- A Master’s-level academic paper (exegetical or research-based)
- A personal bio outlining your purpose for pursuing the Doctor of Theology degree
